This enhancement gives teams a more powerful way to organize and communicate their Strategic Portfolio. Many organizations use single and multi-select dropdown fields on their roadmaps to represent important business dimensions such as value streams, themes, regions, or products. Now, these same fields can shape how your Strategic Portfolio is visualized.

By pivoting the Strategic Portfolio with your own structured data, you can create clear, audience-aligned views that highlight exactly what matters, whether you are showing how work is distributed, who is responsible, or how initiatives align across teams and geographies. Primary and secondary lanes now reflect the data your organization relies on every day, allowing product teams to tell sharper stories with minimal effort.

This update is available on Enterprise plans.

What’s Included

  • Pivot Lanes & Sublanes with Custom Dropdown Fields: Use the single and multi-select dropdown fields already applied to your roadmap items to structure your Strategic Portfolio exactly how your business organizes work

  • Data Quality Indicators: Items missing a value will appear under a lane or sub-lane titled “Unlabeled work”, helping teams quickly identify gaps in metadata

  • Smart Lane Display Rules: Across all pivot combinations, empty lanes and sub-lanes will only appear when:

    • Bars or Containers are missing the values needed to fit into the selected categories

    • The “Data Included” filter explicitly requires that a resource be shown
